This project was not a new build but rather a roof extension. We were tasked to create a large family home from an existing single storey bungalow. This was created by removing the roof completely lifting the original height of the roof to allow for an additional storey. Within this new space we allocated room for 4 large bedrooms including a master suite with ensuite and dressing room with a Juliet balcony looking over the garden.
To the ground floor we designed large living spaces flood with natural light from large amounts of glazing. Included within this newly enhanced space was a large family room, large Kitchen Dining Room, Utility Room, W/C, Pantry, Office, Formal Lounge and a Vaulted Stair well leading to the second floor.
We also used SIPs Panels (structurally insulated panels) within this development. This is a relatively new method that allows for quick development reducing the cost in labour. SIPs panels are also highly insulated increasing the thermal efficiency and therefore reducing the energy costs for the property.
